I'm playing catch-up here writing at 5:15am Tuesday. The picture crossing the Golden Gate says it all about the weather coming out of Frisco ... normal. The map doesn't show the route very well so, what we did was ... went up through Napa, followed 29 north to 128 which took us over to the coast again by Ft. Bragg, continued to follow 128 til we hit 101 and followed it to Fortuna. We went from cold in SF to hot in the valleys (Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino) to cold by the shore to hot as we again went onto the valleys to cold as we approached Fortuna. But once the marine layer burnt off we had a spectacular day as the pictures show.

Connie took so many pictures she actually maxed out the memory card and went through one set of batteries. The scenery was just that spectacular ... from vineyards on rolling hills, vineyards in valleys, redwoods, seascapes, winding forested mountain roads where several times I had to shift into 1st gear with very sharp turns up and down. Great ride!!!! If you ever get the time ... hell, make the time ... do it!

It was pretty neat to go back to the ol' homestead in Napa. Not only was it still there, but so was Kim's old school and a little market where I used to shop. The school was undergoing a face lift.

Time to wake up and get read for the road, I want ot get this published so more tonight.
